Job Terms: Permanent
Salary: Dependent on Experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the enviable RS Sailing team in the role of UK
Boat Sales Coordinator. As the world’s largest dinghy sailing brand, our
product range includes small sailboats for junior learners through to expert
high tech skiffs and keelboats which are manufactured, distributed and sold to
our high standards.
The RS Sailing brand includes many of the UKs premier junior, youth and adult racing
classes – both single-handers, double-handers alongside keelboats and adaptive
equipment. Our customers are often experts themselves, and take their free time
to enjoy sailing and racing as much as we do.
The UK Boat Sales Coordinator oversees the entire purchase cycle of new and used sailing
boats across England and Wales. Responsible for building and managing their own
network of customers and contacts through our CRM
system to maximize every
opportunity for the business. Demonstrations, test sailing, boat shows,
regattas and events all encompass the day to day activity of helping new buyers
into their purchase decision. Proactive campaigns and communications with
customers to keep them informed with RS news and offers that might be enticing
are an important element of the journey. UK Boat Sales are the front of house
for the UK business, so a keen eye for spotting and making opportunities is the
key to success.
Working alongside a small specialist boat sales department and within the overall RS
Sailing Sales Team, they report directly to and are closely supported by the
Sales Director, but will be free to organize their own time and resources to
deliver the end goals.
The likely candidate will be a bold and charismatic character who is organized and
thorough. They’ll not be happy until the job is complete and be a quick thinker
in pressured situations to make the right call. They’ll definitely be a dinghy
racer at least at club weekend level in order that the technical queries and
aspects of small sailboats are second nature. They are the type who wants to
sail every spare minute. They are highly literate (most work is done online)
and self-motivated. A history in sales or the industry is not essential – our
customers want expert guidance rather than the hard sell.
Some travel to national and international events may be required and a good deal of weekend
work will be expected.Location: RS Sailing HQ, Romsey, Hampshire
