RYA Onboard and RS ...
|

Well, its finally happened…..We have been
recognised for all our hard work and have recently been
honoured by the Onboard scheme as an official supplier. This
is the culmination of two years of hard work by myself, to
get the RS range of All Purpose Boats seen by clubs as a
viable alternative to other dinghies on the market. This
seal of approval means that all OB Clubs will be able to
arrange the use of Loan fleets through their local OB
Officers and that a bespoke pricing package will be
available, reflecting our commitment to the RYA.The dinghies
which will feature most heavily and have special endorsement
in our drive to work with OB and get more youngsters onto
the water in 2009 and beyond will be the RS Tera and the RS
Feva.

The RS Feva has recently been chosen as the
new Double handed boat for the London Youth Olympics in
2009, with the build up to the real thing gathering momentum
before 2012. It is also the new Youth Olympic Doublehander
in Australia. A remarkable result and one which will no
doubt see the RS Feva grow hugely worldwide.

The RS Tera also continues to outsell its rivals with
over 1000 boats now sold in just over 2 years. Add
another 200 boats to that which are destined for Europe
in the new year and we have a dinghy that is set to
stand the test of time and be seen at many more clubs in
the future. A racing circuit is well established and
training events starting this winter. If your club does
not yet know why the RS Tera is the preferred choice
over other similarly sized boats and has not yet had a
trial, call me and arrange a demonstration.

It is impossible to believe how quickly this year has
gone past. Can remember writing similar words last time
we were getting ready for the London show last year. How
much has happened!!
Anyone wishing to come and see me particularly with the
aim of discussing a fleet replacement or development may
wish to drop me a line before the show. I have already
had a number of enquiries from Clubs and Schools coming
to the show and would hate you to miss out if I’m busy.
I’m thinking of having a planner for booking slots but I
think that is a little over the top. Catch my eye if I’m
talking and leave your details with one of my colleagues
and I’ll call you back at the show so you will be able
to swing on past a little later or I might even catch up
with you at the Guinness Bar…always a good excuse for a
catch up.
The RS Stand at N49 will have a new look to it this year
with a ‘colourful, vibrant’ theme. You’re sure not to
miss us. We will have the RS Academies on our stand
again this year, after their success in 08, welcoming
some new faces into the Academy Family.

Conferences 2009...
I will be coming to all regions in early 2009 with a
selection of boats for you to look at and play with. The
new RS Q’BA and the Modified Training version of the
RS500 will be on show at most of these one day
spectaculars as well as other established classes in our
training fleet. Give me a call to find out exactly what
I’m bringing or just for a general chat. The poster is
available for you to print off if you have not received
one from your local RDO.
