It seems some time ago since we packed up
the London Boat Show stand and returned to Southampton.
In that time the van has had a new gear box and I have
become well acquainted with the physio following a
snowboarding trip to France. Not forgetting to mention
the centres in Wales, Guernsey, Poole, Kent and London
among others that have taken delivery of RS training
boats – congratulations!
Many of the London training centres and clubs have been
successful in gaining funding through the
Sport England
Small Grant Fund which seems the ‘hot fund’ currently.
One benefit of this funding source is that it does not
require match funding.
I am reliably informed that
Awards for All has now made
funds available again for physical activity. You may
have to get slightly creative with your applications but
there is money to be accessed!
If you are in the process don’t hesitate to give me a
call and I can send over bespoke quotes ready for you to
slot into funding applications right away. |

Instructor Conferences... |
|
|
Apparently some people have sailed straight through the
winter with events you may have expected to be cancelled
in fact experiencing bumper attendances. If you were
still in any doubt that it was time to uncover those
boats and get the masts back up then the start of
Instructor Conference season should put an end to that.
Over the coming weekends I will be at the following
locations:

The RYA Regional Development Officers have put a lot of
work into these events and they are set to be bigger and
better than last year. Do go along to your local
conference, it is a valuable opportunity to pass on
knowledge, learn from others, have a catch up and hit
the water in the latest boats to develop your personal
sailing. I will of course have a selection of RS
training boats with me for you to try out.
If you cannot make it but your club would like a demo,
get in touch and we can sort out a time / place. Anyone
for weekdays? |

Quick delivery on RS boats...
I know that quick delivery of boats can be very
important for you - especially at this time of year. So
we built a significant number of boats for stock during
the quieter winter months in order to be able to offer
good service and short lead times going into the spring
period. All RS models are currently available for March
/ April delivery. If you want boats for the early season
- RS is the place to get them! And, being punchy, if you
have been let down elsewhere or are simply not confident
when you'll receive boats you've ordered, let me know
and I'll do whatever I can to help out in the shortest
possible time.
We also work extremely hard to ensure that we provide
fast back up with spare parts all through the year -
again I know how important this can be and we do believe
we are the best in the business with this service. We
have large stocks and virtually every part can be
despatched within a day of receiving your order - using
a 24 hour courier if necessary.
I'm sure you bear these points in mind when choosing
your equipment in the first place.

RS Feva and RS Tera Worlds...
This event was an enormous success last
year with 40 RS Tera’s and 80 RS Feva’s racing round the
course at Lake Garda, Italy. 2010 sees the Worlds head
to sunny Carnac on the west coast of France. The Tera
and Feva association have been inundated with entries,
current numbers standing at 45 and 128 already,
representing eight nations. With the foundation of a top
Class Association, great training and fantastic events,
it’s no surprise why so many chose the Tera and Feva.
The Worlds are at Yacht Club Carnac, France, between
24th – 31st July 2010. If you are thinking of entering
but have not yet done so,

Dinghy Show...
6th – 7th March will see us unroll the
magenta carpet once again at Alexander Palace for the
Dinghy Show. All the boats will be there, all the team
will be there so come and have a chat about what you
have been up to over the winter, the upcoming season and
what colour spinnakers you want on your new boats...

Review section... |
Read the reviews or ask for the number of a fleet user
for an informal discussion about how our boats are used
in your type of training environment.

These attachments can be very useful if
comparing boats for your fleet. Written with feedback from
unbiased sailors, they can often be the precursor for a
demonstration day at your club. Click on the picture to

|
And finally... |
Look out for the new ‘Institution friendly’ Q’BA deck mould
and dagger / centre board retainers on all RS Boats. This
has come as a direct response to the RYA recommendations to
ensure the daggerboard is always accessible for righting
purposes in the instance of a capsize/inversion.
Time for me to hit the road, literally. I am off to the
Mount Batten Centre in Plymouth before turning north up to
Cardiff for the first Instructor Conferences of the season.
