One of the best things about an RS event isn’t just what happens on the water – it’s the community experience ashore too. From post-race socials to all pitching in together with tents, campervans and crew houses, the RS Games are as much about shared moments on land as they are about competing on the racecourse.
We know that camping is always a hot topic among RS sailors heading to the RS Games 2026, so we wanted to share the latest update on campsite options in Travemünde. We’ve been in contact with the organisers at Travemünder Woche to get clarity on campsite locations and booking release dates, and here’s the latest update.
Campsite Locations
The following campsites will be allocated by class, with pitches available for motorhomes, caravans and tents.
- RS21, RS100, RS200, RS400, RS700, RS800 and RS Vareo: Leuchtenfeld (No. 7) and Zippelpark (No. 8)
- RS Aero: Grünstrand (No. 2)
- RS500, RS Tera and RS Feva: Pötenitzer Weg (No. 9)
- RS Venture Connect: Kohlenhof (No. 10) and Stellplatz eh. Hospital (No. 11)
These locations are all within the wider Travemünder Woche event area, helping to keep RS sailors together and close to the action both on and off the water.

Travemünde is a classic seaside town, and for those who’d rather not grapple with tent poles, there are plenty of accommodation options nearby.
From Airbnb and Booking.com listings to guest houses, B&Bs, holiday parks, and right through to swanky hotels, there’s something to suit all budgets and comfort levels. Whether you’re travelling as a family, a group of sailors, or just fancy a proper bed after a long day on the water, you’ll have no shortage of choice.
As always with popular summer sailing event, we recommend booking early to secure your preferred option.
Campsite Booking Release Dates
Due to high demand, the organisers at Travemünder Woche are currently working to add additional camping options. To ensure everything is properly prepared, the campsite booking opening dates have been slightly delayed.
Campsite bookings are now expected to open at the end of February.
Travemünder Woche will give us advance notice closer to the time, and we’ll make sure to communicate the booking opening clearly as soon as we have confirmation, so keep an eye on RS Sailing social media and class event updates.
