It’s been an action-packed week at Club Nàutic L’Escala. The prize-giving ceremony in Regatta Village bought the event to a close on Saturday 28th September. Speeches were given by the president of the Club Nàutic l’Escala Narcís Carreras, the Commercial Director of RS Sailing Michiel Geerling, the president of the Catalan Sailing Federation Josep Maria Isern and the Mayor of L’Escala Josep Bofill.
With the lowering of the class flag, the RS21 World Championship, which brought together 164 RS21 sailors from 10 countries and two continents, said goodbye. The conditions have been tough and variable. Sailors experienced first-hand the champagne-sailing thermal winds typical of L’Escala on the first day, with wind speeds and gusts increasing with westerly and northerly winds of the last few days.
The regatta has been very competitive. There were several changes at the top of the leaderboard throughout the week, with very tight differences in points. A sign, without a doubt, of the excitement of one-design racing and the high level of competitiveness within the class.
Relive the experience and witness the action on the RS21 Facebook and Instagram pages.
