“Oh, this little thing is SO much fun! Yeehaawww…”
The RS CAT12 gets put through its paces in the latest adventure from Small Craft Tasmania‘s Mat Conboy.
Following on from the unboxing and test sail episode, Mat teams up with his friend, long-time sailor and boat builder, Ben Tucker for a full side-by-side comparison with the Hobie Wave. The pair take both boats out, testing them across a range of wind conditions to see how they stack up.
Back on shore, they share their honest first impressions in a detailed review.
Each boat is scored across 10 key areas: 1) comfort, 2) rigging & assembly, 3) build quality, 4) durability, 5) portability, 6) safety, 7) speed & agility, 8) payload & space, 9) overall design. And then there’s the most important category of all: 10) Fun Factor. “Boats need to make you smile. When you get off a boat – how BIG is your smile?”
So, which catamaran comes out on top? You’ll have to watch to find out…
