The countdown is on! The International RS Tera Class Association is excited about the RS Tera World Championship, happening from August 3rd – 8th 2025 on the shores of Lake Lipno in the Czech Republic. The event is fast approaching, and if you haven’t already made plans to join, now is the time. Whether you’re racing, supporting, or just soaking up the action, here are the top 5 reasons why this year’s event is not to be missed:
1. A Fantastic Host Club That Makes You Feel Right at Home
This year’s Worlds are being hosted by Jachetní Klub Černá v Pošumaví, a venue known for its premium sailing club facilities and its stunning scenery where you can immerse yourself in the surrounding hills and forest – as well as excitement on the water. With years of experience running world-class regattas, the team know how to deliver a smooth, fun, and well-organised event. Expect a vibrant atmosphere where young sailors will be empowered to compete and create unforgettable memories with a genuine community feel – all in the picturesque heart of Europe.
Jachetní Klub Černá v Pošumaví hosted the RS Feva Europeans in 2016 and 2022 and want this year’s RS Tera World Championship to be the event of the year. The club has been recently refurbished with the sailors lounge directly next to the boat park. Across the large green open space there are also a big screen so you can get live footage and race reports straight on the shore. The slipway to the lake is also located right next to the boat park making it easy to launch. So, everything will be right at your fingertips!
2. World-Class Race Area with Ideal Conditions
The race area is nothing short of perfect. Situated just a 5-minute sail from the beach, it offers consistent wind speeds, safe waters, and plenty of space for exciting fleet racing. Typical conditions in August brings wind speeds of 6-18knts and temperatures peaking at 24°C, whether sailors are chasing the podium or just keen to compete, improve, and have fun, this is the place to do it.
3. Family-Friendly Camping and Accommodation Options
Why not make the most of the school holidays and the glorious location by bringing the whole family? The surrounding area offers waterside accommodation from campsites, AirBnBs and 4-star hotels, making it easy to stay close to the action. Evening BBQs, bonfires, and informal get-togethers turn the event into a mini holiday – a real win for sailors and supporters alike. There are also restaurants and beach bars close to the venue so you can soak up the local culture and cuisine.
4. A Global Community Like No Other
The RS Tera Worlds are more than just a regatta – they’re a celebration of inspiring confidence and fun in the next generation of sailors. Competitors will meet families from around the world, swap stories, make new friends, and be part of a buzzing international vibe that leaves a lasting impression. The RS Tera class is known for its family friendly atmosphere, where the RS Family all share the same passion and love for sailing.
