We love seeing snaps of the RS21 out on the water – especially when it’s front and centre in a feature with one of sailing’s biggest names.
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Sir Ben Ainslie was photographed aboard an RS21 at Queen Mary Sailing Club. The article discusses everything from Ben’s ambitions in Rolex SailGP and Athena Racing‘s America’s Cup campaign, to the future of sailing and the importance of giving young sailors a pathway into the sport.
The RS21 feels right at home in this story. It’s a boat built for progression. It’s both accessible and offers high-performance, which is ideal for both club racing and developing talent. It mirrors one of the key messages Ben talks about: building legacy through mentorship, grassroots engagement and supporting the next generation.
It’s no coincidence this shoot took place at Queen Mary Sailing Club – one of the UK’s most active and forward-thinking clubs, and a long-time partner of RS Sailing. Their fleet of six RS21s is used regularly for training, racing and opening-up keelboat sailing to more people.
