To celebrate 10 years of the RS Quest, we asked you to share your favourite Quest sailing moments – and you did not disappoint. We received so many fantastic entries for the #RSQuest10Years competition that narrowing them down to just three was no easy task. From first adventures on open water to peaceful family sailing days, every story reminded us why the RS Quest is loved by sailors of all ages.
After much deliberation, we’re excited to finally reveal our Top 3 Finalists:
Finalist No.1: Fred (aged 11)
Fred’s entry captures the magic of a first big adventure at sea:
“First trip in the open sea sailing an RS Quest from Yarmouth Sailing Club Isle of Wight. In the pre-dawn night we rigged our Quests and huddled together for our final briefing. Navigating by the red and green beacons of the channel boys, we sailed on the powerful ebb tide to the Needles light. The orange dawn broke through the sea mists, revealing the chalk stacks. Our first mission into the open sea, a shared experience with my mates, we loved it.”
A truly unforgettable moment, filled with teamwork, discovery, and sailing into the magenta-pink sunrise.
Finalist No.2: Jenny (aged 50)
Jenny’s story shows how the RS Quest brings families together – on and off the water:
“I’m a later in life sailor! My wife and I have adopted 5 children (ages 2,7,8,9,11) 4 of which all started to learn to sail last year. We very recently bought a Quest and were so excited to try it when it arrived but there was simply no wind all weekend, we went anyway! The kids loved it, and I loved the peacefulness.”
A perfect reminder that sailing isn’t just about the wind – it’s about shared moments, learning together, and enjoying time afloat.
Finalist No.3: Ludvig Nicolajsen
Short, sweet, and full of joy:
“Cool pic of me and my friend sailing the Quest!!”
Sometimes a great photo, an EPIC salt spray, and a big smile says it all.

We asked you which finalist is your favourite? Votes were taken on Facebook and Instagram (voting closed on Monday 22nd December 2025).
The results have been collated across Facebook & Instagram comments, plus our Instagram Stories poll – and it was close!
Winner: Fred (aged 11) with 49% of the vote
Ludvig sailed into a very close second with 41%
Jenny took third place with 10%
