Job Title: RS Sailing Technical Sales Executive
Location: Based at our Romsey headquarters, with some travel to sailing events throughout the season
Salary: Competitive, plus performance bonus
Keep Sailors on the Water and at the Heart of the RS Community
We do not just build boats. We keep people sailing. Our Parts and Sales team at Romsey is the engine room of RS Sailing, looking after everyone from the racer chasing a replacement part before the weekend to the family choosing their very first boat. Whatever brings a sailor to us, we are proud to be part of their time on the water, and proud to inspire the next generation of sailors.
We are looking for a commercially driven and technically confident Technical Sales Executive to join that team. This is primarily a parts sales role, with retail boat sales forming a meaningful part of the mix. If you know your way around dinghies and keelboats, enjoy solving problems for customers, and want to contribute to the growth of a respected brand, this could be the right opportunity for you. As part of the RS team you will stay closely connected to the sport, enjoy staff benefits on RS kit, and attend key events that keep you at the heart of the sailing community.
What You Will Be Doing
- Handling parts enquiries from sailors worldwide by phone, email and in store, advising on the right components, building accurate quotes, and turning enquiries into orders
- Managing the full parts sales process from first contact through to fulfilment, keeping customers informed at every step
- Supporting retail boat sales, guiding customers through their options and helping them find the right RS boat for their sailing
- Working closely with the Parts Manager to keep product knowledge, pricing and stock awareness current
- Collaborating with the wider Sales Team to deliver a joined-up, high-quality customer experience
- During peak periods, helping to process and dispatch up to 250 orders a week, including regatta support stock preparation
- Keeping accurate records of all customer interactions and orders in our CRM system
- Attending sailing events where RS has a presence, with some travel involved
About You
- A genuine sailor with hands-on experience of both dinghy and keelboat sailing. This knowledge is essential, not optional, as our customers know their boats and will expect you to as well
- A strong communicator who builds trust quickly and handles enquiries with patience and precision
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage several enquiries and orders at the same time
- Commercially aware, with a clear understanding of what good service looks like and what it takes to close a sale
- Polite and professional across every channel: phone, email and in person
It Would Be an Advantage If You Have
- Experience in a retail sales or customer-facing role, ideally within the marine or sailing industry
- Confidence with order management or ERP systems
- A second language such as French, German or Spanish, given our global customer base
What We Offer
- A role at the heart of one of sailing’s most respected brands
- A competitive salary plus performance-related bonus
- Staff purchase benefit on RS kit
- Exposure to a global sailing community
- The opportunity to travel to RS events throughout the season
- A supportive, professional team who genuinely love the sport
