With just one week to go, here are 10 reasons why the RS Team can’t wait for the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show 2022!
1. The start of the 2022 sailing season – The RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show signifies the start of the sailing season for many of us in the UK and we cannot wait to kick start this season at a new venue! Alexandra Palace will always hold a special place in our heart for anyone in the RS team lucky enough to have once carried an RS Venture diagonally through a doorway, but the prospect of a brand new glitzy exhibition centre is quite frankly making us giddy with excitement. Farnborough International Conference Centre, here we come!
2. The launch of the RS Toura! – It’s finally time to let you all get your hands on the RS Toura and see her in all her ginormous glory! With enviable space and stability, she is always adventure-ready and we can’t wait to see her inspire a summer of fun with families and clubs around the world!
3. The RS Games launch party – This summer, over 1500 competitors in 1000 RS boats will be descending on Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy for the dinghy sailing event of the year – the 2022 RS Games. In true RS style, it is set to be a true celebration of the incredible RS community and lifestyle that is so special to many sailors worldwide! Join us on our stand at 5pm – there will be some inspirational words from the RS CEO’s followed by a drink and a good RS catch up.
4. The Pulse63 by RS Electric Boats will be on the stand – the world’s first RIB with a fully integrated electric drive. The Pulse 63 is 100% electric, uses emissions-free propulsion, and is made in the UK using sustainable materials. Our mission is to make a difference and provide a more sustainable way for you to work and play on the water.
5. #Backthebid – Check out the RS Venture Connect SCS on the RYA Sailability stand as we #backthebid! As the popularity of the sport continues to build around the globe, World Sailing is looking for reinstatement of Para sailing at the Paralympic Games after its bid for Paris 2024 reinstatement failed. The RS Venture Connect Class is backing it all the way!
6. Bimble Inspiration – Get inspired to bimble to your hearts content, ready for the season ahead – there will be 16 box fresh RS boats on the stand which have been fettled with all our latest bimbles, blocks and rope. The RS Customer Care team can help answer all of your go faster, I’ve lost this shackle, what size is this bolt questions!
7. RS Class Associations – Speak to your Class Association volunteers! We have a boat-load of awesome RS Class Association volunteers who have given up their free time to inspire you all to get involved with the RS Classes. Whether you are joining an RS Class Association for the first time or you’re an RS veteran, they’d love to hear about all your sailing plans for 2022.
8. The Dream Team – RS Sailing Team are on hand to help! It’s been a long, dark winter stuck in the office for the team and we can’t wait to hear all about your sailing plans for the summer or for the braver sailors – what you’ve been up to this winter! If you’re lucky enough to be in the market for a new RS, the RS Team love being able to customise a package for you that really suits your sailing needs and of course, offer customers our boat show offer!
9. Celebration of the Dinghy Sailing Scene – We love the celebration of the Dinghy Sailing scene and finding out what’s striking passion in sailors right now, from new dinghy sailing trails, sustainability, women in our sport and many more hot topics! We get to see you all – Most importantly, we are so excited that the show is not virtual – we loved the novelty of a virtual show last year, but the prospect of an in-person show practically has the team excited about ironing their shirts (which quite frankly is unheard of)! We cannot wait to catch up with you all and bring the RS family back together.
