It’s no coincidence that hundreds of camps worldwide have chosen to work with RS Sailing. Whether it’s their first time or their hundredth time, it is awesome to see campers’ smiling faces as they get on the water in RS Sailing boats designed for exactly this purpose.
RS Sailing is excited to attend the American Camp Association National Conference in Orlando, Florida, this week. Supporting the ACA is an important part of our effort to strengthen the grassroots foundation of sailing, we’re excited to be exhibiting with our distributors Zim Sailing (RI), Central Coast Sailing (IL), and West Coast Sailing (OR). So many sailors get into our sport in summer programs, and whether they go on to enjoy the sport on the same lake they learned or turn into advanced racers, we are very proud to support and be a part of their sailing journey.
Known for building innovative boats for all levels of sailing, our commitment to building functional training boats is the perfect match for community sailing centers and summer camps. We offer many models for different purposes, and new this year is the addition of the ultimate people hauler the RS Toura, with space to carry 7 sailors with ease. To help you work out which boat would be most suitable for your camp we have created a camp specific web page. Most importantly, we you are always open to discuss which boat would fit you your programme best. Please don’t be afraid to ask the wildest questions, from how to raise the mast to how to find instructors, purchase docks, or anything else sailing program related. Whether you have a long-standing sailing program or know nothing about sailing, you will be amazed by the knowledge we can bring and we are always happy to help.
In our opinion the RS Zest is probably the perfect boat for most camps. The RS Zest, declares “#Zestisthebest” for a good reason, stands alone in the boating world as the best modern sailing boat for one to three sailors. Designed in 2018, the goal was to use the latest technology to build a boat that would inspire confidence in it’s sailors by making a comfortable, durable, stable, and approachable sailboat. Top features include; a kick-up rudder and centerboard to avoid major damage from grounding; self-draining cockpit to helpkeep feet dry; a bench for forward facing crew; roll up on the mast mainsail for easy storage or reefing; handles on the bottom of the hull for easy capsize recovery; child proof mast gate for ease of use; replaceable mast cup for easy maintenance; and even more. Each individual part is geared to create the most durable solution to keep the boat on the water even in the toughest environments.
Constructed from durable polyethylene, the same material as your kayaks, RS hulls have an added layer of foam for flotation and an extra layer of polyethylene for extra durability. All the hulls will ever need in terms of maintenance is a power wash or scrub to be good as new.
The number one priority for RS Sailing and all of our distributors is customer support, and whether you challenge our boats through extreme weather or extreme sailors, we stand ready to support to minimize lost sailing days which we know are so valuable to your summer programs.
