After what can only be described as an explosive entry into the single-handed dinghy market in 2014, it’s safe to say the RS Aero had an exciting start to its life as an excellently versatile singe-hander.
So, picture this, you’ve kept your boat in great condition and other than that one time (or a few times!) where you scraped the stern on the slipway and that tiny blemish in the sail, she’s as good as new! As a keen sailor at your local club and having attended the odd open meeting, the Inlands and Nationals it turns out you’ve quickly developed quite an affiliation with the RS Aero and would love to see the class continue to grow.
If you don’t want to be on the class committee and you don’t have the time to volunteer, there’s still a way you can contribute! Part exchanging your RS Aero for a new one! It not only means that first and foremost, you get a new boat, but you also make a valuable contribution to the RS Aero used boat market. The second-hand RS Aero market is very limited at present due to the speed at which used boats get snapped up. The used boat market is essential for the growth of the class as it allows youth and new sailors an easier entry path at a more affordable rate. The durability of the RS Aero and its short life span so far, means that not many people have sold their RS Aero. For the few who have sold their boat, used RS Aeros have sold like a hot cake on a cold day!
What is a part-exchange? This is the process of using your current RS Aero as a down payment off the cost of a new one. Our team at the RS Sailing HQ in Romsey will value your boat and take this from the price of your new boat purchase.
So what are the advantages for you?
• Nothing beats that ‘new kit’ feeling, imagine unwrapping your new RS Aero at home or at your sailing club in a few weeks’ time, pristine condition and not just ‘good as new’ but NEW!
• It goes without saying that a faultlessly smooth hull and a fresh sail are certainly not going to harm your chances of climbing the rankings in the spring series!
• A great sense of satisfaction that your old RS Aero will go to a good home, whilst also helping to grow the Aero fleet across the UK.
What are your thoughts?
“Sounds like a win-win situation, I get a new boat and get to help out the class growth at the same time. Sign me up! What’s next?” – Give us a call on 01794 526760 or email info@rssailing.com to get the process under way.
“Okay, so I’m not convinced yet, but you have my attention, what should I do?” – Just speak to one of our team to discuss if this is the right option for you. Call 01794 526760 or email info@rssailing.com.
“I’m not sure there’s much difference between my Aero and a new one” – Book in a zoom appointment with one of the team to check out what a “fresh out the box” hull and rig looks like.
“I want one the these ‘good as new’ Aeros” – Well there isn’t any available at the moment, but if you register your details with us, you’ll be the first to know when one becomes available (soon hopefully).
RS Sailing is excited for the year ahead for the RS Aero and you should be too. So why not get involved with this part-exchange initiative and help grow your fleet!
