Thirty-two RS Feva’s competed for the 2021 RS Feva North American Championships hosted by Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, CT July 29-30th, 2021.
A clinic was hosted Wednesday prior to the event with support from the US Sailing Siebel Sailors Program.
Nine races were held over the two days of racing. Thursday featured sporty conditions with 8-15 knots and 2-3’ waves. Friday kept sailors on their toes with shifty conditions ranging from 4 to 13 knots.
Throughout the varying conditions, Ike Schultz and Avery Peterson from Sachem’s Head Yacht Club dominated the event from start to finish with only 12 points over 9 races, discarding a second place.
The following three boats had a tight competition for the remainder of the podium with only a point separating each at the end of the event.
Cedar Point Yacht Club lived up to the reputation earned through many awards for one-design racing, pulling out all the stops on and off the water.
