RS Tera World Championships 2021 – Greve, Denmark

April 27, 2020
RS Tera World Championships 2021

The Worlds in Greve by the International RS Tera Class

The Køge Bugt Sailing Club (SKB) is proud to welcome all sailors and guests to the RS Tera World’s sailors in the beautiful waters 30 minutes south of Copenhagen. Køge Bay is frequently used for national and international sailing events. We are ready to welcome you all with an experienced race management team, good facilities and activities for the whole family.

The water

Køge Bay is an easterly-facing coastline with stable wind and nice sailing conditions. The sailing will mostly be held just east of the Marina. It is therefore possible to stand on the beautiful beach and watch the sailing. There is plenty of space to lay a good course without interrupting traffic and sailing obstacles.
Service

RS Sailing and Aarhus Sea Shop will be ready to help you with spare parts and help get your dinghy back on the water if there are any problems.

There will be a sailing lounge and chill out zone with the opportunity to meet with the other sailors from around the world. Relax in good company, play games and enjoy life at the Marina.
Sailing in Køge Bay is all about the racing, friendship and fun.

Accommodation

There are many places close to Greve Marina where you can spend the night. There is a camping ground just a short walk from the Marina and hostels, bed and breakfast and hotel’s within easy reach. It will be possible to stay in a camper at the Marina during the event for a reasonable price

Getting there

It takes less than 30 minutes to get by train from Copenhagen to Greve and it is very easy to use public transport for direct transfers from Copenhagen Airport. If travelling by car, there are excellent ferry and bridge connections from Germany, Poland, Sweden and the Baltic countries. When you arrive at the Marina there will be plenty of parking spaces for both your car and trailer.

Sightseeing

Make the trip a holiday for the whole family. Greve, is near to the wonderful sights and sounds of Copenhagen, with its rich maritime history you can spend days wandering around, enjoying the very laid back atmosphere and enjoying a coffee after visiting all the amazing museums. Also enjoy the word famous Viking ship museum and Cathedral in Roskilde, or take a leisurely walk around the market city of Køge. A little further afield you can visit Legoland, beautiful castles such as Kronborg in Helsingør (the mystical setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet) or just enjoy the beautiful Danish countryside.

Family Activities

During the Worlds we will ensure that there are lots of family activities available at the marina so that the whole family, especially those not sailing, can get out on the water and enjoy the summer in Denmark. Of course we hope for great weather so you will be able to enjoy the magnificent white sandy beaches, swim or borrow a SUP or kayak.
