After several months of activity all across Europe, we are proud to invite you to the inaugural RS21 European Championship, hosted at Fraglia Vela Malcesine on the shores of Lake Garda, in cooperation with the Italian RS21 Class.
The 2021 RS21 European Championship will see 4 days of racing from 20-23 October, taking advantage of Garda’s consistent strong winds for daily action on the water. With Fraglia Vela Malcesine’s extensive club facilities, visiting teams from countries like Sweden, Estonia, the Netherlands, Poland, France, and the UK should have some good opportunities to train and get up to speed in the days leading up to the event. Ranking will be separated between the open and Corinthian class, to allow amateur skippers to compete fairly on the same high level as some of our sport’s most renowned athletes. We are expecting over thirty entries, and to support this, RS Sailing and Negrinautica are supplying a large charter fleet which can be booked here!
In addition to the first-ever RS21 European Champion, this event will crown the winner of the Italian RS21 cup, the overall champion of the 4-event RS21 class series which gained serious local traction over the last 6 months. The Italian Cup has been instrumental in presenting the one-design merits of the RS21 to the world and bringing the class to some of sailing’s best venues. The RS21 has shown itself to be the ideal boat for professional, modern one-design racing that is accessible and thrilling for all. We can’t wait for this event, and we hope to see you there!
