There are many ways to go on a family holiday; flying off to exotic locations, soaking up the sun on a white sandy beach is often the dream, however with the situation we find ourselves in, that type of holiday may seem further away than ever, but what if there is another way to holiday as a family? One which didn’t cost on average £5000 per year. One which gives you a connection with your family you may not have had before, a chance to teach your children a new skill or perhaps learn one yourself.
At RS Sailing, we have a number of boats in our range which provide this opportunity. For example, the RS Quest and RS Venture are both proven in the family holiday dinghy department. With prices starting just under £6000 you can get a boat to use for several years holidays for a little more than the average family is paying for 1 years holiday, I know…..it sounds like great value for money. I’m sure many of you have read “Swallows and Amazons” and this is your opportunity to recreate that wonderful summer spent on the water. Having your own boat will give you and your family a great sense of freedom and an opportunity to explore the fantastic domestic waters on holidays for many years to come.
Whether you prefer a white sandy beach or the shores of one of our fine lakes the RS Quest and RS Venture are sure to put a smile on your family’s face. With plenty of space aboard to pack a picnic and a bag of clothes you will be set for a day on the water. Push off in the morning and explore the waters around you, when it’s time for lunch pull the boat up on the beach, or drop the anchor and settle down for those tasty sandwiches listening to the splashing of gentle waves against the hull of your new pride and joy. Now with the mid-day sun shining down on you, take a leap into the water for a refreshing swim before climbing back aboard and continuing your adventure into the afternoon. The afternoon breeze may fade, but both boats can take an outboard motor so there is no chance of being late back to shore and firing up the BBQ.
You may choose to visit the same shores, or explore new waters on each of your family adventures, either way you will have a capable craft ready to make a lifetime of memories for you and your family. With a simple layouts and remarkably stable platforms, both boats can be handled by all levels of experience. They are equally quick to rig up and pack away, easily manoeuvrable on the shore and light enough so you barely notice when towing to your next destination.
With the summer approaching, now is your opportunity to try a new type of holiday and potentially teach yourself and your family a new set of skills to use for many years to come.
