Already known as one of the best single hander race boats in the UK, the RS Aero has been consistently growing in popularity in North America. The RS Aero is known for being extremely lightweight and responsive without being complicated and finicky. With four different rig sizes, sailors of any size/ability can find their perfect match with the RS Aero. The class has seen a lot of growth in North America, with events being hosted across the US and Canada, including the 2022 Aero Worlds at the Columbia Gorge in Oregon.
Davis Island has become the resident winter home for the North American class, having hosted their winter events for the last few years. Promising warm weather and consistent wind, Davis Island offers RS Aero sailors excellent conditions for their winter series. For the sailors that are looking for a more rugged winter sailing experience, several clubs are offering frostbiting series, including Cedar Point Yacht Club and Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle. So, regardless of whether you are looking to escape the winter cold, or you want to embrace it, the Aero class has events to keep you sailing all winter long.
