The RS21 North American Championship is headed back to Lakewood, Texas. Racing will run from June 17 – 19 with a racing clinic on the 16. The three-day event will feature exhilarating, short course racing. Open to competitors who supply their own boat, sailors without a privately owned RS21 are able to charter a boat from the LYC charter fleet. Lakewood is offering “fly in, fly out” dockside service, making it extremely easy for sailors to charter and race.
A racing clinic is being held on June 16 for race teams looking for RS21 specific insight on boat handling and set up. The emphasis will be on boat handling, spinnaker use and tips, with a combination of drills and practice races. Sailors are encouraged to come prepared with any questions they may have! The clinic instructors are LYC Waterfront Director, Terry Flynn and LYC RS21 Fleet Manager Keamia Rasa Lucas. Both have significant race experience and insight on the RS21.
The event currently has teams from around the country coming to compete, with teams coming from as far as Newport Beach, California and Newport, Rhode Island. Aside from great racing, sailors can look forward to off-the-water fun and festivities.
