Chicago Yacht Club is all set to host the next leg of the National Offshore One Design Regattas. With more than 130 teams entered across 13 separate fleets, it is set to be the beginning of an awesome summer season.
Lake Michagen will greet sailors with great breeze and sunshine for the first two days of the regatta and although rain is forecasted for the last day, we doubt it will dampen spirts. The Six Pack has landed in Chicago and preparations have started ahead of the event by the team at Sail22.
The RS21s are famed for their tight racing and they will be raced hard over the three-day regatta. Local team skippered by Will Curtis and crewed by local junior sailors are coming in hot after having just won the College Nationals last week. Jody Lutz will be skippering the next boat, crewed by RS Sailing CEO – Technical, Alex Newton-Southon. Scott Diamond, RS Sailing Midwest US dealer, has got a quick team together for the regatta.
Follow all the action on the NOOD Regatta website and across our social media. There are still opportunities to charter for the Marblehead NOOD, July 25-28, click here to get booked in! A massive thank you to Spinlock and RaceGeek for providing technical support to the sailors during the racing.
