RS Sailing is excited to announce that the Sears Cup at US Sailing’s 2021 U.S. Chubb Junior Championships will be sailed in a supplied fleet of 12 RS21s to determine the 2021 US Junior Keelboat Champion.
This will be the 100th Annual edition of Sears Cup, and the U.S. Chubb Junior Championships will be sailed August 10th-14th. The event will be hosted by Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead, Massachusetts, the same venue that hosted the inaugural Sears Cup in 1921 and for which the trophy is named after Past Eastern YC Commodore, Herbert M. Sears.
The event chair Hannah Lynn says “As the host of the inaugural Sears Cup 100 years ago, EYC is excited to continue its trailblazing role in this new era in competitive keelboat racing, and to introduce the RS21 to the renowned Marblehead sailing scene.”
“The RS21 was designed to be a club keelboat for everyone, to be both exciting and well balanced, an obvious perfect choice for youth sailors. Supplying 12 keelboats for an event is a monumental task, yet we could not be more thrilled to provide this opportunity for these youth sailors. We are very thankful to Eastern Yacht Club and US Sailing for this opportunity.” said RS Sailing North American Representative Todd Riccardi.
RS21s may be available for charter for other events and demos upon request as geographically possible. To learn more about the RS21, please visit www.rs21sailing.org.
