The countdown has begun! There is less than two months until the RS Games kick off in Portland Harbor, UK. Occurring every four years, the RS Games brings together racers from across the globe to the UK. The event takes place over two weeks, from July 21st until August 5th, and features competitions for racing class within RS’ range. The RS Games begin with the RS Feva World Championship and RS21 National Championship, followed by the RS Aero Youth World Championship! The event ramps up with the National/European Championships for the; RS100, RS300, RS600, RS700, RS800 and RS Vareo classes! Next up are the Celebration Regattas for the RS200 and RS400 classes, and last, but by no means least, the RS Games conclude with the RS Tera World Championship, the RS Aero European Championship and the RS500 World Championship.
Over 1,000 competitors are expected to descend upon Portland Harbor to take part in the racing and festivities. With the option to charter boats, international sailors don’t have to worry about traveling with their boat. In fact, sailors can look forward to having just as much fun onshore as they will on the water. With a mantra as legendary as #sailitliveitloveit, everyone is sure to have a great time! Aside from being a premier sailing venue, The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy is a premier location for visitors and tourists. Within five miles of the venue, sailors can find a wide variety of accommodations, ranging from campsites to luxury hotels. In addition to lodging, the area boasts excellent dining and attractions. For those travelling by air, the easiest way to fly into the area is through Southampton or Bristol, both of which are less than two hours from the sailing venue. The venue itself is extraordinary, renowned for holding world-class events run by the experienced team at the academy and an army of volunteers that make these events possible.
