You’re not a racer, you’re an explorer – Have an adventure in an RS Venture

May 27, 2021
RS Venture

You’re not a racer, you’re an explorer.

Everywhere looks different when seen from the water – in our view, better. There’s nothing like escaping the crowds and sailing from one place to another – especially to somewhere new.

Do you find yourself gazing out to sea pondering what cruiser or daysailer is the best fit for you? You’ve got nothing against polypropylene but you’re looking for something more refined…

Well, the RS Venture is a new benchmark in family and exploration dinghies, it can carry up to eight sailors in its huge, self-draining cockpit and it has all the space you could possibly need for any day voyage.

Sparkling performance makes it a pleasure to sail, with well-mannered boat handling and a plethora of accessory options to allow you to really set up the boat in a configuration suited for your sailing dreams.

We’re aware that no two adventure spots are the same, so the RS Venture has a choice of standard or ballasted centerboards and there’s even a lifting keel version too for the tricky spots (check out the RS Venture Connect). Exceptional stability makes the RS Venture ideal on estuaries and coastal waters – with stowage for all the equipment you’ll need, including an outboard motor.

The RS Venture is robust due to her durable composite GRP hull construction. It consists of thick woven GRP skins and 3mm coremat, under a double layer of gelcoat which means that the RS Venture will stand up to intense use. There’s an optional aluminium keelband on hull bilge rails – which provides great protection from grounding (it happens to the best of us) and results in minimum maintenance.

The RS Venture really has a wardrobe of rig and sail configuration options, from a mylar or dacron mainsail, a furling jib, an asymmetric or symmetric gennaker and a trapeze pack for those who like the thrill of being on the wire.

Tie her to a fender, potter along with the outboard when the wind dies or reef her down in a breeze – the RS Ventures versatility is endless. Don’t just take our word for it…

“…it is simply a great family dinghy for mum, dad, the kids, dogs and friends to go exploring together. For those who have a holiday cottage on the water then the Venture is the perfect accessory” Andi Robertson, Yachting Life.

Is the RS Venture the best modern cruising dinghy? We’d like to think so and if this has got your exploration juices flowing, we’d love to talk to you about the boat and all the possible configurations in more detail.
